The first version compatible with Windows was released after years of hard work in 1992. The 2.0 version had lacks but it was going to get better. In 1994 Version 3 got released and introducted Layers. Many different version were launched but the revolution started at Version 7.
The 8 version was called Adobe Photoshop CS (Creative Suit) with a new logo and with more tools than any before. After a while Version 9 CS2 was launched and in April 2007 The New Photoshop CS3 apeared. Working with photoshop is great and the best thing is that you can continue your editing using other Adobe Softwares by exporting the file from Photoshop to any of : Adobe ImageReady, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects.
The new Photoshop Cs3 was a big step for Adobe because it created compatibility with the new Apple Intel based systems.
